Wilder and I planted some carrot and beet seeds. Our first edible planting of the Spring! Our rows are a little less than straight, but who cares.
Wilder and I have been growning some seedlings down in the basement. I made a crude but effective table with sawhorses and a small sheet of plywood. Got a 48" flourescent fixture with full spectrum bulbs and hung it from a pipe in the basement. I have two tray each holding 105 plugs. Got seeds for carnival hollyhocks, Tigerella and San Marzano tomatoes, evening stock, sky pink campion, morning glories, and various other flowers. The second tray we planted is doing better than the first. I think I accidentally let the first one dry out too much and the marigolds died. I got some black hollyhock seeds that I may try again in the same plugs.
