I put the first plants in the ground yesterday - tomatos, Peter Pan and zucchini squash, pickling cucumbers, and lime and cinnamon basil.

Since I haven't had the soil in the lot tested yet I feel a little hesitant about eating leafy things grown in the ground. I built this box with a kit from Lee Valley and 16" paving stones. I mixed bagged topsoil, composted manure, and peat moss and this will be our bed for greens.

The carrot and beet seeds that Wilder and I planted in April are finally getting big. These are the first fruits of this year's garden.
