Over the years I've worked as a stock boy, short order cook, projectionist, youth counselor, web developer, project manager, and system administrator. Currently I'm working as a daddy, and moonlighting as founder of Brooklyn Chiles an urban gardening business.

Before the Nate and Dash were born in December 2006 I worked at the American Museum of Natural History where I started as sysadmin for the computers built into permanent and travelling exhibits and ultimately as Manager of Interactive Exhibits for the Exhibition Department. I managed the team that creates the computer interactives in exhibits throughout the museum, and technically supported travelling exhibits that toured the world. This article describes work on a recent exhibit.

I was Manager of Web Based Applications at the Fund for the City of New York. While I was there I worked on sites for the Public Schools Athletic League and the Office of Pupil Transportation for the NYC Public Schools. (I didn't do the page design.)

Back in the late nineties I founded the Computer Resource Centers program for the New York Department of Parks & Recreation, ran the program for two years and then helped out as a long-distance consultant for another year. Public access computing has long been an interest of mine and this was a spectacular opportunity to put a lot of my ideas into practice. The program has continued to thrive since I left and is running strong today.

I got my Master's from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU and taught web design there for about five years after I graduated. I haven't taught in a while but if you're interested in perusing my course materials they're available here.
